Ciorbe La Ion

Carrying tradition forward
Ciorbă de burtă, Romanian tripe soup, in a glazed clay bowl, with a basket of sesame bread rolls beside it

Traditional Romanian restaurant, Galați

Carrying tradition forward.

Romanian soups and dishes cooked without hurry, for meals that bring people together.

Not only soups

At Ion's the table carries everything, from soup to grilled meat and dessert.

The soups carry our name, but the kitchen goes much further: grilled meats, fish, slow-cooked dishes, burgers, salads and sweets. There is something for children, for those who want something light, and for those who arrive properly hungry.

Clean food

We cook without flavour enhancers and without added glutamate.

Whole ingredients go into the kitchen, not sachets. In our soups and in the dishes we cook ourselves we use no Delikat, no Vegeta and no added monosodium glutamate.

Where a bought-in product, such as bacon, cured meats or bread, arrives with additives from its maker, we write them in the menu beside that dish. Every item declares its additives and allergens, so you can choose knowing what is in front of you.

See what each dish declares
For us, ingredients are not decoration but the foundation of taste. We cook simply and honestly, so that you taste each thing as it is: clean, good and made with purpose.

Galați, since 2019

A restaurant where time spent together tastes of something again.

At Ion's, tradition means cleanliness, food cooked properly, and a table where every generation belongs. The room recalls interwar Romania: warm, elegant without pretension, with good music, sometimes a lăutari band, sometimes simply a pleasant background.

Six little rolls that settle any sorrow. Better than any psychologist, especially if you also have sour cream.
